Enjoy world class diving in a U.S. destination when you come to the Virgin Islands and experience the diversity of St. Thomas scuba diving!
Come see where we've been diving and what we've been seeing!
The ocean was flat calm and we were able to get to French Cap. The first dive was on the Ledges and we enjoyed 150' visibility that day. We ran into a large 5' Nurse Shark under a ledge. The second dive was at the Cathedral. Lots of Copper Sweepers wee in the tunnel leading to the back of the cavern. When the sunlight shines through the crack in the rock, it is so beautiful. The little bit of surge that day gave us a fun ride out of the tunnel. The dive lasted an hour and we didn't want to come up!
On rare days we can get out to Super Secret Site #49 and this was one of those days...
As we descended I could make out the silouette of several Queen Triggerfish. When I reached the reef there were a total of eight Queen Triggerfish of all sizes hanging out with two large Gray Angelfish, and me with no camera. Andre was pointing like crazy at something big I couldn't see in the distance as it swam away. Several lobsters and a small Nurse Shark were hiding under the next ledge. Then there was a large Green Moray Eel underneath another ledge that was ready to come out and swim with us. The reef was so full of life that morning! It made me grateful I was there to see it.
It is our distinct pleasure to have been able to celebrate Linda's 100th dive with her on July 31, 2008! Her and Charlie came out on a gorgeous day and were treated to a couple of great dives with the 2nd being Linda's 100th and Charlie's 105th on Armando's Paradise. This is Kristin's favorite local site so she was thrilled to be able to experience it with them!
During the past few weeks we have seen quite a few familiar faces. Many of our repeat guests have come down from the states to dive with us.We had Curtis and Nikki out to Spratt Point and Calf. Then Jim and Roxanne arrived in town with their family. Everyone has been keeping us entertained!!We can't wait until they all come back again!
On Tuesday June 10 we did a night dive at the Cartansar Senor. The marine life was plentiful; sting rays, turtles, octopus, a sea cucumber, and of course lots of fish. The bioluminescence was phenomenal. What a fantastic night for diving!!
This mornings first dive was at buck point. Diving with Andre and I was the Mellott family, Skip and Patrick Mckenzie, Amanda Alleyne and William Bungardner. We hit 80 feet with 60 foot visability. While diving we found a huge stingray sleeping in the sand. We watched it for a few minutes and then it started swiming right towards several members of our group. Andre found an arrow crab and being the entertainer that he is pretended that he was going to eat it.
The second dive was at the Navy Barges. The depth was 40 feet, and visibility was about the same as the first dive. Daphne Mellott found a nurse shark sleeping, and also had a lot of fun watching a blinny for a while. There was also another nurse shark sleeping on the wreck, so our divers got to see two sharks on one dive. Sean Mellott took some really good pictures.
This was the Mellott families first dive trip after getting certified at home in cold water. We had a great time with them and hope they come back soon.
