Do I need a passport to visit St. Thomas? PDF Print E-mail
If you are a US citizen, you only need proof of citizenship and a photo ID.  St. Thomas is in the U.S. Virgin Islands which is a U.S. territory.  U.S. citizens returning directly to the U.S. from one of the territories are not considered to have left the United States and therefore do not need to present a passport.  It is a great idea to bring a passport if you have one in case you decide to visit the British Virgin Islands.
